At CDI Call 320.251.0609 today to make an appointment!
CDI offers the following preventative screening exams to help determine your risk for vascular disease such as stroke or aneurysm.
Stroke/Carotid Artery Screening ($35) Looks for fatty plaque and any disturbed blood flow in the carotid arteries. Restricted blood flow due to fatty plaque in the carotid arteries is the leading cause of stroke.
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening ($35) Evaluates for abnormal bulging or widening, which can be treated to prevent rupture if caught early. The vast majority of people with AAA have NO symptoms.
Cardiac Calcium Scoring ($275) This non-invasive exam images the coronary arteries to detect hard plaque buildup, an indicator of coronary artery disease. This screening exam is appropriate for men 35-70 and women 40-70 with additional risk factors. This exam does not require a physician referral, but we recommend you talk with your doctor about the benefits. More on CDI's Calcium Scoring Exam
Who is a good candidate for a screening exam? You should consider a screening exam if you are older than 55 and have one or more risk factors. These risk factors are guidelines and include, but are not limited to:
- Family history of arterial disease (stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysm or heart disease)
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- Smoking
- Alcohol consumption
- High cholesterol
Screening exams are performed by registered ultrasound technologists and read by board certified and fellowship-trained CDI radiologists.
Walk-in Mammograms! Between work and family, it is not easy to find the time to schedule your annual mammogram. CDI now offers walk-in screening Mammograms Monday - Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., so feel free to swing by without an appointment and we'll get you in!
The American Cancer Society recommends women 40 years and older have an annual screening mammogram to aid in early detection of breast cancer. If you are under 40 years old, talk to your doctor to see what screening program will work best for you, particularly if you have a personal or family history of breast cancer. Most insurance companies cover an annual screening mammogram as part of your preventative care. However, you should contact your provider so you are aware of your personal coverage.
