Kerry M. Kallas, M.D.


Kerry M. Kallas, M.D., is a musculoskeletal radiologist at Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI). He also performs injection procedures to help patients manage joint and back pain.

Dr. Kallas completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging with the University of California-San Diego and has been a practicing musculoskeletal radiologist since 2000. Dr. Kallas received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in 1994, graduating with Alpha Omega Alpha distinction, in addition to several honors for scholastic and clinical achievement. He subsequently completed an internship in general internal medicine in 1995 and a residency in diagnostic radiology in 1999, both at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics.

Prior to his medical training, Dr. Kallas received his bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and mechanics and his master’s degree in theoretical mechanics, both with distinction from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology. He has also received several patent awards for his work in the controls industry.

Dr. Kallas has authored and co-authored several articles in professional journals, including Skeletal Radiology, and recently co-authored a book chapter entitled “Imaging Considerations in Orthopaedic Trauma” in Rockwood and Green’s Fractures in Adults. His professional interests include advanced MR imaging of articular cartilage and orthopaedic hardware, as well as optimal MRI protocol development.

Dr. Kallas’ professional affiliations include the American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiologic Society of North America and Society of Skeletal Radiology.
